MSNBC and me
I was pleased to see their article today at least placing some blame on the parents. AND it mentions asswriting. I was also interested in the part that talks about girls being at risk for STDs at age 9. After all, I was vehemently attacked and called a “conservative” for suggesting girls could be pregnant by 11 because they are raised to act and dress like mini adults. Maybe one day I will have credibility too. Until then, the camera does the talking.

hahaha at first I didn’t know what you meant by “asswriting”, but I quickly figured out that you were talking about the same thing that I call “assvertising” LOL! I hate it!!!
What these kids and “tweens” don’t realize is that they will have DECADES to do all of these adult things — but they will NEVER be able to go back to childhood again. Growing up is NOT only about wearing fun/sexy underwear, talking on cell phones and going out with boys — these kids (and the parents who are stupid enough to let their kids act and dress like this) have NO IDEA about all of the CRAP that goes along with it!!! Yeah, let’s rush into the whole new world of possibilities that comes along with all of this “sexy” stuff that they want to do so badly! Let’s see, there’s rape and sexual assault, date rape drugs that you can’t taste, see, or smell when they’ve been dropped into your soda, drunk driving, violence, abuse, pregnancy, HIV, STDs… oh yeah… I forgot… these kids are invincible and these terms are all abstract to them. Well, unfortunately they won’t be abstract to many of these kids once they enter their premature adulthoods.
God, what I wouldn’t give for just one day to play again as I did when I was 10 years old — to feel the beautiful warm breeze on my face as I rode my bike around the block, to come back home to a nice house where my mom and dad would have a hot meal prepared for me and my sisters, and where I could read a good book before falling off to sleep with a bedful of my favorite, most loyal stuffed animals and dolls… fast forward to now: I get up and have to work all day, I come home to a now empty apartment and am too tired to cook a real meal so I have either a peanut butter sandwich, a bowl of cereal, or a frozen meal, and then I do some more work and pay some bills and oh yeah, I stop and thank the lord that I stopped dating that last guy I’d been seeing because I just saw that he left violent, disgusting threats all over his now ex-girlfriend’s myspace page (did I mention that he did NOT mention to me that he already had a girlfriend when he took me out those four times? Or that this was the second guy in a row to cheat on his partner with me without me knowing until it was too late?) — then I stumble off to bed, alone again, until the alarm blares the very next morning. Oh, it is so much fun being a “grown-up”. These kids have no idea what they are getting themselves into.

wow, “LongIsland” you sound really deppressed. You don’t seem very happy with your life nor the people in it. i suggest clearing some freetime to revisit those childhood memories…none of which go away when your an adult, you just stopped doing them for one reason or another. Also, i suggest talking to a theraputic counselor, you seem to have some really bottled emotions.
Anyway,my reaction to this picture….they’re teenage girls hanging out in the mall. One of which is dressed like a complete slut. The other three all seem perfectly acceptable, however.
Also, believe me, teenage girls know alllllll about STDs, rapists, and other creep things in the “real world”. With all the warnings, restrictions and coverage about it, how could they not? It’s safe to say then, that even if they are in denial that it would ever happen to them of all people, they should have at least some common knowledge of what to do and how to be safe while having a good time. It is hammered into their heads every day, afterall, by the parents, schools, and media.

When I was their age, we would never have let one of our *friends* dress like a complete slut. She needs to get friends that will be nice to her.

Oh yay. A teenager giving out “life experience” advice to a grown up. Great. That’s all we fucking need.

I can’t believe that a’kelllll would judge one of these girls as a complete slut. Obviously she’s just trying to look sexy and accent her better features. Sexy is not all about sex you know, just check out VS pink line and you’ll understand that. You sad, old, out of touch geriatric, bingo playing idiots. I learned all about it here: http://www.therealmalingering.com/2006/11/23/victoras-secret-for-teens/

So, if teenagers know all about STD’s why do they have higher rates of it than adults?
cmgrowl - June 14th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
My problem is, things like short skirts and tank tops were designed to promote sexuality, to get men to oogle a woman, to send a signal.
I saw a young girl, 5 or so, wearing an outfit Im sure her mother thought was CUTE, but was barely appropriate for a 24 year old.
