the dangers of sport
On a serious note: this whole Everett thing is really depressing. I was a gymnast for many years, and I remember hearing about other gymnasts become paralyzed after bad falls. It absolutely makes me feel sick to my stomach…
So here’s to all of the gymnasts who were paralyzed because of their love of the sport. I don’t know what else to say.
Julisa Gomez (passed away 3 years later because of the injury), Sang Lan, Wang Yan, Ariana Duffy (Yale Law school graduate), Johannes Hablik, Yelena Mukhina, Samantha Slusak, Ronny Ziesmer, Maria Zasypkina, Andrew Donnellan, Andrea Wilson, Al Acostys and anyone else I couldn’t find online.
