steep me and call me a sucker

I’m a sucker for packaging. And tea.

yogi tea

So now I have this weird Yogi Tea addiction. Every time I have some sort of problem: nausea, feeling bloated, stress, anxiety, I go to the co-op and buy a tea to cure myself. There is something about the packaging that I find very soothing and I feel convinced it will solve all of my problems. This is totally stupid, which is why I am fascinated. I’m going to start reading about consumer behavior to try to explain my behavior to myself, though I think it unlikely that I will stop buying the tea.

I’m a little concerned about this:

do not drink for 30 consecutive days

What would happen if I drank it for 30 consecutive days? Would I get cancer? Will my liver liquify? Would my kidneys fall out? What sort of birth defects are associated with this that I can’t take it once I’m knocked up? Which is the offending ingredient (Tried googling birth defects + different ingredients, got nothing)? Should I be concerned that my little placebo is doing more harm than good? Why is everything so complicated sometimes?

  1. “Why is everything so complicated sometimes?”

One word - lawyers. It’s called CYA - covering your ass. Better to cover everything with a huge blanket statement to protect yourself then to get a gigantic lawsuit where someone takes you to the cleaners.

    God bless America.

My tea collection looks similar, except it’s with Celestial Seasonings. It’s a local company and I’m a sucker for their Sleepytime tea.
