crossfit boot workout

The JT
21-15-9
handstand push-ups (head to ab mat)
parallel bar dips (no assistance)
push-ups (one footed)

15:24

This was my first workout in a week. I am very very very grateful to today’s trainer (Jonesy) for finding me a workout that didn’t involve any standing. I am sore sore sore, but happy to be back doing what I like doing. The boot felt like it weighed a ton while I was doing dips. Damn those were hard.

  1. There was an article in NYTimes Magazine today about CrossFit (’God’s Workout’). I didn’t realise it was so cult-like, or at least members have such a tolerance of injury and pain that it would seem cult-like. Sounds fun though!

  2. Marissa,
While I’ll readily admit it can be cult-ish at times (especially in calling the CrossFit workout the quintessence of all training programs), that article seriously exaggerated it with the numerous religious references. I’d hardly call Malingering a cultist, for example. Heffernan’s negative comments on the naming of workouts after fallen soldiers is also pretty appalling. Whether you support the war/occupation/whathaveyou in Iraq or not, to criticize anyone for trying to remember those who died in service to them and their country is completely out of line.

    Mal,
Great effort, especially with the boot. Get well soon.
