that’s me on the jumbotron

DSC_8843

I’m laughing and holding an illegal sign. I’m a rebel!

Mostly I want to use this opportunity to answer some of the moronic comments found over on LAist.

1) Yes, I have been to a Dodger game before. I have been to over 100 games over the past 3 seasons, including the playoffs. Fuck off.

2) Yes, I do know how to buy tickets. I will explain again that I have season seats for 25 games, and the rest of the games I buy sort of “a la carte.” Because there was a giveaway night, those were the best available seats within my price range. Because I go to 40+ games a year, I can’t blow $50 on seats every time.

3) No, Dodger Stadium is not like this every night. While I cannot account for every home game, I attended half of their home games last season and this was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

4) No, I do not have a problem with beer, cheering, Vin Scully, Dodger Dogs, the wave, or children. I have a problem with morons, inconsiderate assholes, dickwads and fucktards, all of whom were present at the game I mentioned and all of whom were grossly interfering with my ability to watch the game and enjoy myself.

Okay. I’ll quit it with the dead horse stuff and move on.

  1. I was at that game on Friday night and sitting in the same scetion as you - you know how I know we were in the same section? One of your pics was of that lame girl with the Dodger tube top with the clear bra straps. She must have walked up & down the stairs about 20 times - BEFORE the game started and then got up & down another 100 times DURING the game. And those damn kids & their f’ing beach balls…my friend & I got hit by those damn things all night. At one point, I offered a guy $10 to pop it. He just laughed as he threw behind him. I can sort of understand why the kids might be into the beach ball thing…but why were there so many males intrigued and captivated by balls? Just sayin is all! And you’re right, Dodger Stadium is so not like that every night.

I would have commented on LAist but I couldn’t remember my login & was having email issues.

  2. Mal I love that you dig the Dodgers. I think it’s awesome that you try to see as many games as possible. I also think it’s kick ass that you call people out…

Yes sporting events are for having fun, but like you said, these people aren’t the only ones in the universe. Have fun in moderation, you’re sharing space with tons of other people. Be considerate. THEN go get drunk at your friends house so THEY can clean up after you.

Keep up the awesome shots, I always read about the games and I don’t even follow baseball!

  3. I wish you’d take that dead horse and get all Uma Thurman Kill Bill on those asswipes swing that thing around by two hooves and just take them out once and for all…probably have to be a shetland, but still.

I don’t understand the misogynist, selfish, fuck you attitude that some respondents over at the LAist display…though they’re certainly free to make asses of themselves–which they do.

    I love your baseball stories.

  4. What do those signs say?

  5. God. I hate it when people can’t be bothered to RTFA (Read The Fucking Article). It just displays their stupidity even more.

When some of these people get kids (…wait….god forbid…nevermind) and responsibilities and learn what it’s like to try to enjoy a family night out and what a total disappointment it is to have it ruined by some fucking moron that can’t hold their alcohol and thinks their idea of a good time is acting like a door to those that are trying to watch the game and bopping beach balls around like a 2 year old, then maybe they’ll understand. Especially when they paid for those tickets.

If anyone wants to piss away their money they spent to see a game that they’re obviously not paying any attention to, please - send it to me. I’ll make sure the money goes to much better use.

For the record, for the Colorado Rockies games I’ve been to in the past, I’ve never seen behavior like this in the stands. Even on a Friday night and especially on a freebee night. That kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Like I posted on the comment thread back on LAist - if I take my kid to the game, do I want him to be subjected to moronic behavior of people who don’t know how to behave in public? No. And do I want to PAY for this honor? Absolutely not.

  6. mal…agree with you wholeheartedly…and since i don’t frequent sports events, i’d like to apply all of your ‘disgruntisms’ to the same a-holes that display this behavior at movies and music concerts.

  7. The signs say “bad to the bone” in Japanese… that’s Saito’s theme song.

Well, we hope they say bad to the bone!
